Call Meeting to Order

CLOSED SESSION AS AUTHORIZED BY THE TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS
ACT, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, SECTION 551.001, ET SEQ.,
CONCERNING PURPOSES PERMITTED BY THE ACT INCLUDING:
A. 551.074 Deliberate the Appointment, Employment, Evaluation,
Reassignments, Duties, Discipline, or Dismissal of a Public Employee or
to Hear a Complaint or Charge Against an Employee
1. Discussion of Personnel
 

Student Pledge

Whitehouse High School senior David Moore led the Board and attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 
 

Recognitions

We had the special honor of recognizing our UIL Academic State Qualifiers, Academic State Champions and National Award-winning Yearbook Editor. These competitions took place in May, making tonight our first opportunity to formally celebrate their achievements. While some have since graduated, we are proud to recognize the hard work and success of these Wildcats who competed at the highest level. 

UIL Academic State Qualifiers

We first recognized our UIL Academic State Qualifiers: David Moore, Cayson Chen, Elijah Drake and Landon Fletcher, who competed in Social Studies under Coach Kevin Hendrix; Abigail Andrew, who earned 6th place in Feature Writing under Coach Paige Dyer; and Sahlika Qureshi, who earned 3rd place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate under Coach John Nichols.

UIL Academic State Champions (Literary Criticism)

We also celebrated our State Champion Literary Criticism Team, consisting of Angela Evans, Emily Yu, Garrett Fritter, and Heidi Jenson, under the direction of Coach Grant McDonald. 

UIL Academic All State Journalism Team

Next we celebrated our UIL Academic All State Journalism Team, consisting of Abigail Andrews, Nicole Catania, Madelyn Hedges and Aleah McAllister, under the direction of Coach Paige Dyer. 

National Yearbook Recognition

Another outstanding achievement was Natalie Catania, editor of the 2026 Whitehouse High School Yearbook, which was selected for the Walsworth Yearbooks Gallery of Excellence, as well as yearbook advisor Paige Dyer. 
 

Open Forum

We had one participant in the Open Forum speak about the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA).
 

INFORMATION ITEMS

Program Highlight - Wildcat Academy

AIM Center Director Mr. McFadden and Academy teacher Mrs. Willis shared the spotlight on Wildcat Academy, giving the Board a look at the program’s day-to-day experience, how it helps students stay on track toward graduation, and testimonials from students currently in the program.

Accountability Update

Dr. Taylor updated the district on its accountability results, highlighting recent trends, areas for continued growth, and opportunities to better serve every student and improve outcomes. She also celebrated the many distinctions campuses across the district earned over the past year.

Transportation Update

Mr. Pratt provided a transportation update, offering a look into bus route data two months into the school year and reminding families how to access student bus information through My Ride K-12 and Skyward. He also recognized our campuses for the great work they are doing to help students safely get on and off the bus and shared that every route bus in the district fleet is equipped with air conditioning.

Discuss and Consider the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit and Delegate Contractual Authority to the Superintendent (action approved)
 

REPORTS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT

Dr. Whittle shared how each of our campuses continues to work to help every student achieve successful outcomes, along with a brief update on the district’s current enrollment.
